سُورَةُ الهُمَزَةِ

وَیۡلࣱ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةࣲ لُّمَزَةٍ (۱)

WOE unto every slanderer, fault-finder!

ٱلَّذِی جَمَعَ مَالࣰا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ (۲)

[Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard,

یَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥۤ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ (۳)

thinking that his wealth will make him live forever!

كَلَّاۖ لَیُنۢبَذَنَّ فِی ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ (۴)

Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment!

وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحُطَمَةُ (۵)

And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be?

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ (۶)

A fire kindled by God,

ٱلَّتِی تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ (۷)

which will rise over the [guilty] hearts:

إِنَّهَا عَلَیۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَةࣱ (۸)

verily, it will close in upon them

فِی عَمَدࣲ مُّمَدَّدَةِۭ (۹)

in endless columns!
